Tyler Mac Fox is a a thru-hiker, bikepacker, ultrarunner, climber, river runner, skier, and van dweller.

Tyler began to explore the outdoors, starting with a hike on the Pacific Crest Trail (PCT) driven more by a desire to stretch his savings than a love for nature.

Tyler reflects on his love for the outdoors, acknowledging the risks but preferring this lifestyle over any other.

Tyler shared about:
  • His website, Halfway Anywhere, which started as a personal blog in 2011, is now his full-time job, providing him with the primary source of income.
  • Tyler biked across Australia, hiked the Japanese Alps, and more recently focused on lesser-known trails and off-trail routes.
  • Currently, he is focused on the Tour Divide bike race and spending time in the Eastern Sierra near Mammoth.
