Mel’s passion for the outdoors blossomed while attending Humboldt State University in Northern California, where she immersed herself in environmental studies and outdoor activities.
Pursuing her interests, Mel moved to Eugene, Oregon, for graduate school, where she specialized in environmental studies with a focus on natural history writing.
Today, Mel remains passionate about exploring the natural world and sharing her experiences with others.
