Chuck Meyers, originally from Whiting, Indiana, near Gary and Chicago, grew up in a blue-collar, diverse community with a large Eastern European population.
Frustrated by harsh working conditions for nurses in Indiana, including overwork and poor pay, Chuck moved to California seeking better opportunities.
Chuck initiated his comedy journey in San Diego, encouraged by supportive peers and family, and launched his successful show “Dose of Laughter.”

- Chuck’s love for stand-up comedy, inspired by watching acts like Eddie Murphy and Def Comedy Jam, it wasn’t initially part of his career plan.
- From 2015 to 2017, he wrote ideas while living in Santa Barbara, but never pursued stand-up seriously until after a breakup and a move to San Francisco, where he continued to write and train in Jiu Jitsu.
- Chuck Meyers acknowledges the therapeutic benefits of comedy, although he hasn’t extensively studied its physiological effects.
