A queer stand-up comedian from Brooklyn, New York, Brooklyn Jones.
Brooklyn Jones initially started out as a rapper.
Brooklyn Jones grew up in Brooklyn, New York. With a singer for a mom, a songwriter for a grandfather and a playwright for a grandmother, she always knew she would be in the entertainment field. She is a two-time winner on BET’s 106th & Park, she initially started out as a rapper performing all over the underground scene. Even in her lyrics, you could not deny her comedic edge as many times people would crack up and point out the funny lyrics as she rapped.
She was always the class clown and was told all through life that she should be a comedian. It’s 2013 when she finally realized that she has a passion for comedy ever since. Brooklyn doesn’t really want to abandon music, that’s why she has incorporated music and hip-hop into her comedy by doing parodies. She has been honing her comedic skills by performing all over the New York City area and headlined her first show at New York Comedy Club in 2013. She recently relocated to California and decided to bring her New York flavor to the West Coast.
Brooklyn shared about:
- Losing everything she has in a fire.
- How she bounced back with laughter and inspiration.
- How a comedian handles difficulties.
