Initially drawn to indoor rock climbing, she expanded her love for adventure by exploring hiking, backpacking, and mountain biking in college, where she also pursued a degree in wilderness rescue.
Balancing family life with rescue work, she has been involved in intense rescue operations, including swift water rescues and helicopter evacuations.

- Brighton became passionate about the outdoors in high school through indoor rock climbing, later progressing to outdoor climbing.
- She recalls her first intense rescue experience, just a week after finishing her EMT course, when she encountered a group of motorcyclists hit by a truck while on a road trip in Arizona.
- Brighton Peachey recounts a bear encounter while hiking in Canada with her family, her husband carrying their baby and accompanied by their 6-year-old, was followed by a brown bear for about two miles despite their attempts to scare it off by yelling and throwing rocks.
