Alex Geary is not your average guide—he’s a seasoned ACMG/IFMGA Mountain & Ski Guide who traded mechanical engineering for a life of high-altitude adventure. Based in Revelstoke since 2010, Alex has spent years leading epic ski tours and climbs worldwide, from Canada’s rugged terrain to the peaks of Chile, Nepal, and beyond.

With a past that includes cat-skiing, heli-ski guiding, avalanche forecasting, and even explosive avalanche control, his career is packed with thrilling stories. When he’s not guiding, he’s exploring the mountains he loves with family or chasing his next adventure.

Alex Shared About:

  • Growing up with a passion for the outdoors that was heavily influenced by his father. His early adventures included multi-day hikes, trips to Tasmania, and a transformative trek in Nepal at age 16.
  • Gaining guiding experience in Chile, including a season of cat skiing, a niche activity akin to heli-skiing but accessible in all weather conditions. Leveraging his global adventures to deepen his appreciation of diverse cultures and forge meaningful connections with people worldwide.
