Author, host and producer at Bruce Starr Productions, Bruce Starr.
Bruce Starr has been a host and producer of broadcasts on both radio and television since 1993.
Bruce embarked on a new adventure in his late twenties, leaving behind a successful jewelry business in Boston to pursue his dreams in Los Angeles. With an unshakeable belief in his potential for success in show business, he set foot in LA with determination.
On his very first day in LA, a chance encounter with comedian friends like Bruce Smirnoff, Mark Goldstein, and Barry Marder at the Improv on Melrose Avenue marked the beginning of his journey. His friendship with Barry Marder, in particular, led him to explore the burgeoning comedy club scene.
Encouraged by Barry, Bruce recognized an untapped niche in representing comedians for personal appearance deals, seizing opportunities that big-time agents often overlooked. Comedians who preferred to focus on their craft rather than the business side found in Bruce a dedicated ally who could make the necessary calls on their behalf. With time, Bruce represented 35 stand-up comedians and carved his own path in the industry.
Bruce shared about:
- The catalyst behind his transition from a thriving businessman in Boston to pursuing his dreams in Los Angeles.
- The challenges and competitiveness inherent in the world of comedy.
- His journey of transformation, evolving from an accomplished American screenwriter, actor, and comedian to becoming a Luvcoach with the mission of guiding individuals from being players to lovers.
