Patient zero of COVID19, Gregg Garfield.
Gregg Garfield was one of the earliest people to be diagnosed with coronavirus.
Gregg was given a 1% chance of survival, but now he is finally home and fully recovered. He has been in the hospital for 64 days and 31 days in a coma. Providence Saint Joseph Medical Center doctors in Burbank notes that seeing him walk out to go home was “nothing short of a miracle.”
The first time Gregg even heard of the coronavirus was in late February, when his fiancée, Anneliese “AJ” Johnson, called him on his European ski trip to warn him there had been an outbreak of COVID-19, the illness the virus causes, in Northern Italy.
Gregg talked about:
- being patient zero when covid 19 started
- losing his fingers and toes
- surviving an avalanche
